Huh, this is actually funny and completely unexpected. On the one hand, we have a game I expected to be a shit taco, but turned out to be a 5 layer beef burrito with nachos, cheese, and a sprite. Now that's a damn good meal. On the other hand, we have a game I expected to be filet mignon with a baked potato, but turned out to be chicken wings and french fries. It's still good but is in no way the gourmet meal you wanted. Transformers games has loyally followed the path of suck, and it's no doubt most people believe this would be no better, but hold your corny, overused Transformers jokes and metaphors; this one is actually good. If you were a fan of Crackdown 1 and couldn't wait to get your hands on Crackdown 2 and see what they would do to make the game better, then prepare to be disappointed because you will be playing Crackdown 1.
Transformers takes place on the mechanized planet of Cybertron. The Autobots and Decepticons have been fighting for eons apparently, and the game picks up right before the Transformers have to leave Cybertron for Earth. This game is pretty much the prequel to everything Transformers. For you fans, Optimus is not yet a Prime, Starscream is still an Autobot, and the Ark has not yet been built. Bumblebee still has his gay little name though, which sparks what I think is a very smart and legitimate question. Why is it that the name Bumblebee, a name given to a giant robot (although small compared to the others) that shoots lasers and shit, is generally accepted by the public in this context, but try that shit somewhere else and it's gay? I get it, he's small (again, compared to the others) and yellow, but c'mon. Everybody else gets cool robot names or names that match their vehicles, and he get Bumblebee. My favorite names are Ironhide and Barricade....don't know why. There was one other name I like, but I can't remember. Hmm...this is gonna bug me all day.
I would first like to say that I am NOT a Transformers fan. I love the concept (2 teams of robots that can change into vehicles beating the living metal out of each other), but I never actually followed the storyline of Transformers because I...well...I don't give a shit. I say this because fans tend to overstate how good or bad a product based on their beloved franchise is, and it's sometimes hard to tell whether you should take the words of the reviewer when he/she has their head shoved so far up the franchise's ass. So, from a non-fan to you, I say you should get this game. So crowded is the maketplace with cover based shooters that it's so refreshing to see a game that run-n-guns it. In fact, this game drives and guns it. Yes, it's a standard 3rd person shooter, but it's done so well what more could you want? Battles can get hectic as all hell, and some of the set pieces are just downright awesome. Some of the boss battles are pretty epic. You can transform anytime you want, and when you do, you hover over the ground allowing you to aim and shoot as if you're in robot form. Hold R2 or RT and your transformer drops its wheel (or fire up the thrusters if you're using a plane) and take off like a regular vehicle should. I like how you can hover in vehicle mode because if someone is just off to the side, you can't just simply turn around on wheel. My only 2 gripes about the single player is that its short and the graphics repeat themselves - both very minor complaints. A seasoned gamer can beat the game in 6-8 hours depending on how many times you die, and while that is short, I don't feel cheated by paying full price for this long of an experience. As for the repeat graphics, you'll notice that environments start to look alike. I know its a machine planet, and I can tell they tried their damnest to make each place look different, but that still doesn't change the fact. With that said, the average person probably won't give 2 shits about that, and nor should they.
Quick Note: This is only a review of single player as I couldn't do the multiplayer modes. My friends won't get this game and I refuse to play co-op games with people I don't know. I want the ability to bitchslap anyone who's being an asshole and I can't do that if I haven't (or can't) meet the person. I heard people rave about online, and competitively it's alright. It's nothing really special except the ability to transform, which is useful as all hell when getting your ass kicked. Without trying the co-op aspect though, it's best to leave multiplayer alone and not add it to the review.
One of the criticisms about Crackdown 1 is that it didn't have much of a story....or any at all. Hey agent, there are three gangs; go kick their asses. That's it. Somehow that feel a lot better than what we got here with number 2. It's 10 years after the events of Crackdown 1, and one of the gangs that was taken out was working on the T-virus apparently and it was spread throughout the city, turning citizens into freaks...known as freaks. The problem might have been fixed if not for some terrorist group call the Cell, who wants to keep the freak population around in order to get rid of the Agency because the Agency are power hungry dicks and this is "for the good of the city." Is it just me, or are terrorists normally retards? So not only is the story bad, but it almost completely disappears after the opening cinematic. There are audio logs, but fuck that. Most of them are hidden. Why the fuck do I have to LOOK for the story? The truth is, you don't because the story is donkey dick. Now that I think about it, Crackdown might be the only series that actually BENEFITS from not having a story. Do we really care why we're raising hell here? In other sandbox games, you need a story to give you a reason to go through the missions, otherwise you'd just fuck around all day. In Crackdown, all you do is fuck around, so what's the point? The terrorist group has released a virus that will....yea, yea that's great. Now get out of my way; I'm gonna throw this jeep.
In 2007, this gameplay was very original. Now, it's typical. For a game that started a lot of trends you see in sandbox games today, it does nothing new in the sequel, and that's not only a shame, that's bullshit. With that said, most of the problems stem from the fact that I'm comparing it to the original. If you never played Crackdown before, you're missing out on something awesome. You play as a superpower clone who's job is to clean up the streets of Pacific City with an assortment of kickass weaponry and abilities. When you begin, you start out more powerful than any human and most freaks, but you're abilities can be increased to insane levels, and that in itself is half the fun. Your upgradable stats are agility, strength, firearms, explosives, and driving. Upgrading firearms and driving unlocks new vehicles and weapons, which is fine and all, but unlocking vehicles seems pointless to me unless you really wanna unlock the tank, and when you've beefed your agent up, you won't want the tank. You'll probably just throw it. Strength not only increases your arm strength, but also your health. Agility increases your jumping height and explosives increases the blast radius of your grenades and boomsticks. How do you increase these stats? By fuckin around! Drive into enemies and do stunts increases you know what, punches and throwing stuff at enemies increases strength, making enemies go boom increases explosives, and guess how to increase firearms. Yep, hurting enemies in specific ways increases just about every stats...except agility. All around the city are green orbs that you collect to increase to increase your agility. This is probably the most addictive aspect of the game as you cannot say no to these damn orbs. I dare you to play the game and ignore one. You can't do it.
The missions are more varied than in the last game, but not as fun. You have to activate all the beacons in the city, but first you have to activate the absorbtion units first, then you can call for a beacon drop in which you have to protect it from the freaks. Once the beacon goes off, it kills the freaks in that area. Also, you have to take over Cell strongholds, which provides spawn points and drop points for items. In the first game, you kill the numerous gangs leaders....that's it. For some reason, that's more fun than Crackdown 2's formula. Why? Probably because it's simpler and there were more gang members to shoot. Also, Crackdown 2 is boring by yourself. This game needs to be played with friends...not a friend, but friends! Four people tearing ass all over Pacific City is as fun as it sounds.
While all this makes it sound different from the first game, it really REALLY isn't. This really is nothing more than a fuckin exspansion pack. Having the city mostly in ruins is unappealing, and the graphics seem worse than the first game. I can kinda understand since there are literately hundreds of freaks onscreen when they come out at night, and graphics might have to take a hit to make everything run smoothly, but you didn't have to destroy the city. Speaking of city, why are we back in the same city? Why couldn't we be in another city kicking gang ass? Melee combat is is stiff and unresponsive, which wasn't much of a problem in the first game, but why wasn't it improved? They could have at least programed stiff and unresponsive combos. What really pissed me off was the absence of transforming cars. In the first game, the Agency had vehicle that transformed based on your driving level, and it was cool to see a sports car turn into the freakin Batmobile as you drive off. Now they're gone. What the fuck happened!? It's the future; they should be transforming more! Sigh* Playing Crackdown 2 always just makes me want to play the original. The only 2 new additions (what few there are) that I love are the helicopters and the flight suit, both which could have simply been DLCs for the first game. When you max out your agility, you unlock your suit's ability to glide, and when you learn how to use it right, it's a lot of fun. Crackdown 2 does have competitive multiplayer, which once again could have been DLC. There's a standard deathmatch and Rocket Tag. Really? That's it? Okay, this is just proof that the developers got lazy. How fun would capture the flag be with a bunch of agents with flight suits? Rocket Tag is exactly how it sounds except instead of one guy with rockets trying to hit people, everybody has rockets aiming for the guy who's 'it'. You score points by staying 'it' as long as possible, kinda like oddball in Halo. You'd think a mode where everyone has rockets would be fun, but.......
I would recommend wholeheartedly Crackdown 2 if Crackdown 1 never existed. Unless you want 4 player co-op or are REALLY interested in Rocket Tag, pick up the first game. Seriously, it's like 12 bucks now. If you can't find it, then I guess you have no choice. Don't get me wrong, this game is fun, and I'm gonna give it a good rating, but it's a 3 year old game packaged as new. As for Transformers, I believe everybody should at least try it; you will be pleasantly surprised. I know it seems like a game for 10 year old kids (made more evident by the fact that the few games I played online had nothing but), but don't let that deter you from JETFIRE....that's the other name I like!
Transformers: War fro Cybertron Rating: Sweet
Crackdown 2 Rating: Sweet
NOTE: I've had like a month long writer's block that I'm just now getting over. It's a real pain in the ass.

Halo Reach Beta Preview Pt. 2
Ok, there's some new stuff that I learned. Juggernaut mode has changed to be fuckin awesome. Before, the goal of the game was to kill the juggernaut to be the new juggernaut, then kill as the juggernaut. Kill the juggernaut will earn you a point, and every kill you get as the juggernaut earns you a point. First to 10 wins. As the juggernaut, you got an overshield. Now that's Halo 3. In Halo Reach, you get a strong ass overshield and a gravity hammer. Every kill earns you 10 points. What makes this version awesome and the Halo 3 version weak is that with a strong shield and a grav hammer, all the other players learn REALLY quickly that shooting each other is pointless and everyone aims directly at the juggernaut. Before you would kill the person next to you before he or she had a chance to kill the juggernaut, but that won't work this time because the superpowered juggernaut will own you all.
Funny story: while playing juggernaut, one of the other guys had managed to chip away at his health. Then I came in and stole his juggernaut kill. Hey, it was every man for himself (no teams). Right after I took his kill, I heard him scream "OH you got to be kidding me!" as I turned around and smacked him in the face with the hammer. Because everyone was just having a ball killing each other and not paying too much mind at the juggernaut, I went on a fuckin tear! Everyone tried the lone wolf routine, and all promptly ate hammer. It became apparent to everyone that maybe they should stop fuckin with each other and aim directly at me. After dominating for so long, it was now time for me to haul ass. I spent the last part of the match running from the large group of angry spartans. One guy tried to cut me off at the pass, but as they should have learned by now that's a really stupid fuckin idea. Every once in a while, I would catch someone by themselves and make 'em eat it, and when I finally got back full health and shield, I turned around and told the remaining people who were chasing me to Bring It! I crushed them all for the win. Good times.
One of the new game modes I got to play was called Headhunter. The goal is to collect skulls by either killing someone or picking them up from the ground and returning them to the base where they will be counted. If you die, you lose all the skulls you were carrying and they will fall on the ground for scavengers like me to pick up. This game is a hellava lot harder when someone is packing a rocket launcher I can tell you that. My new favorite weapon is the needler rifle which shoots exploding needles at enemies from sniper distance. It doesn't go BOOM like the regular needler gun, but damn this thing is potent. That's it for my preview of the Halo Reach Beta. I suggest you all play it for yourself and see what the fuss is about. Of course, you would need a copy of ODST, and if you don't have ODST you probably won't be interested in the beta....hmmmm....why did I do this preview again?

Halo Reach Beta Preview
I'm still trying to figure everything out, but this is what I know so far. Apparently, Bungie decided to takes the Battlefield approach and have 4 different classes. This doesn't affect your starting weapons, but it does change your abilities, and yes you now have special abilities. The stalker class allows you to cloak, airborne has a jetpack, guard has a shield with protects you like the bubble shield except you can't move, and the scout class allows you to do what every other shooter does...sprint. About fuckin time Bungie. There are a couple of new weapons and it seems like they changed the battle rifle into a one-shot gun instead of a 3 shot burst. Still good though. There's also been a change in controls, but other than that it's Halo. I'm gonna play a few more games (a few more hundred), and I'll come back with more info tomorrow as well as some stories from some of my games.

Dark Sector quickie

DARK Sector is probably the most appropriate for this game because even when you're outside in the middle of the fuckin day, the game is dark as hell. Jesus, it's like I'm playing Saboteur again, except no titties. I know light is hard to program, but is it so difficult to make it so that I can fuckin see!? Other than that, it's a generic ass third person shooter. That blade you throw is pretty cool, but that'll get old quick because...well, you'll be doing that all damn day to make the gameplay somewhat entertaining. Even by 2007's standards, this game is boring as hell. Normally a game that is boring is rated Meh, but this game boring to the point of ass. The only good thing about it is that I was able to get it for five bucks at work. In other words:
This 5 buck box, suck lots of cocks
I shouldof bought Gears, that rocks and rocks
It sucks as a game
It suck as a box
I'd rather have someone pull my dreadlocks
[Neil]: What comes in this box, that sucks some cocks
A cool weapon held, by a butt munch
[Cheerleaders]: His right handed tool, is pretty cool
[Neil]: World domination and a plot twist?
Both on the list, and now let me think, enemies that stink.
[Neil]: That does suck a lot in just one box
But it was only 5 bucks, so my wallet still rocks
NOTE: Anybody else feel like going to Taco Bell?

Halo 3: ODST

If I had to describe this game in 2 words, it would be this: It's Halo. There; I just described the entire experience for you.
Rating: Sweet
See ya next week.
........................................................
All right; all right. If you didn't get enough bang bang goodness from Halo 3, you can now pick up this little gem if you didn't already. In fact, why am I reviewing this? Who doesn't own this game by now? You weren't waiting for me, were you? AW, that's sweet (in a gay sort of way). With that said, there are some additions that make things more enjoyable, but I just don't feel like it's THE game to get, despite others saying otherwise.
Big Monster vs. Pistol....Good Luck PalThe story takes place between the events of Halo 2 and 3 as you control a group of drop troopers on a mission to save the city of New Mombasa, which they fail miserably. Did I ruin the story for you? Of course not; you got the game already, and if you don't, you still already know that from Halo fuckin 3. Microsoft proves once again that Master Chief is overrated and casted a bunch of humans to do the grunt work. Yep; Halo with normal humans instead of a cyborg. Talk about fuckin innovation.
Despite my snarky comments (haha...snarky), playing with normal slightly above average humans with great thresholds for pain and super strength does change the way you play. Instead of gun blazing and running head first into the enemy for one or two smacks to the head, you spend a lot of time ducking and dodging to stay alive, at least on heroic difficulty because any lower on the settings will make you look like a pussy. You don't have the usual kind of health either. You have a shield like Chief, but it's nowhere near as strong. Once the shield is down, bullets start chipping away at your health. Although the shield regenerates, your health doesn't, so you have to find med packs. If you played the first Halo, you have the general idea. Once you get used to this, then you may commence with the pistol whipping. Sometimes, it's better to just sneak around the enemy and avoid fighting altogether. Stealth in a Halo game...the devil must be wearing a winter coat by now. I'm saying that hell has froze...you get the joke. Other than that, it's pretty much Halo, for better or worse.
WHOA! Dude! Don't Shoot the Cameraman!

WHOA! Dude! Don't Shoot the Cameraman! My biggest problem is with the multiplayer. Don't get me wrong; it's still fuckin awesome. If it was a cake, Halo multiplayer would be a fuckin upside down awesome cake with awesome filling and ice cream on the top (the ice cream's flavor? Kick-Ass). My problem is that the multiplayer is Halo 3, not ODST. I have this game already! So do most ODST owners! Why fuckin repackage it? I know what some of you are saying. "Kevin you under-appreciated, unexplainable handsome man of gaming, if the Halo 3 multiplayer kicks so much ass, why bash ODST for repackaging it?" Because they cheaped out on the ODST multiplayer. Yes, you have co-op campaign and firefight, which pits 4 players against endless waves of cannon fodder, but that's it. There's no competitive ODST games to be found, which sucks balls. I would have settled for just Slayer and Team Slayer as long as I get to play as the ODST guys and use their new guns. It's not worth 60 bucks for half a game I already own.

Battlefield 1943 & Dishwasher - XBLA
You have 25 bucks to burn; what do you do with it? What if I told you you can get 2 kick ass games off the xbox live marketplace? Sounds awesome, right? Before, I never really gave a shit the xbox live arcade because it didn't really have games I wanted, and the games I did want to play were old classics I already had. There were some standouts like N+ and Portal, but it was mostly crap to me. Then I heard that Battlefield was coming out for the XBLA. That kinda confused me because Battefield known for full CD releases, and a downloadable would be going against the grain unless it was an add-on. No it wasn't an add-on. It a full game (kinda), and for 1200 points, or $15 if you want to know the actually fuckin price like any other decent human being, it's freakin worth it. With the leftover 800 bucks, I decided to get the dishwasher simply because it was there, and I had points to waste. It was the best random ass purchase I've ever made. So today, I'm giving you 2 shorts reviews for 2 awesome games that you can get with 25 bucks. Go get some points.

Battlefield 1943 is a smaller version of the PC hit 1942. It takes three maps from the previous game and adds one more specifically for air fights. It even has destructible environments like in Bad Company: not as good, still a nice touch. There's only one game mode. Both teams have a meter on the top of the screen, and the objective is to drain the other team's meter. To do this, you kill them, obviously, but that's not all. Each map has bases you can take over. The more bases you hold, the faster the other team's meter depletes. Some bases have perks you can get like planes, tanks, and even airstrikes. There are 3 classes you can chose from (rifleman, gunner, and sniper), and each one is balanced nicely, so snipers can't come in and dominate unless hidden extremely well. All in all, it's a nice size game for $15.
If you played Battlefield before, then you know exactly what to expect. If not, then let me tell you, this game is hell, in a good way. In a game full of people, you have gunfire in every direction, tanks rolling in to establish dominants, planes doing bombing runs while shooting it out with other planes and avoiding gunfire from turrets, snipers dueling from across the map, and a lot of dying. If you don't think that's fun, why even bother playing video games? I still have some problems with it, though. When a bomb is dropped from a plane, it doesn't do enough damage. I've have bombs blown up in my face with no consequence, which is funny because grenades can kill you from a farther distance. The sniper rifle sucks balls. If you don't get a headshot on a guy, then you might as well say fuck it, and move on to the next target because you will not kill him. Now, that's normally the course with snipers, but this one is so fuckin bad. Even if the reticule (which is small as fuck) is dead center, if the guy is moving, it won't connect. The bullet will hit the ground a second after you pull the trigger. That's bullshit. A bullet connecting is suppose to instantaneous with the pulling of the trigger. I shouldn't have to wait for the bullet to connect. Most of your targets will probably be snipers or just people generally standing still, so its a small problem, especially if you're not the sniper rifle type, but still worth mentioning. Besides, the good players somehow find a way to adapt and rack up the kills, anyway.
All in all, this gets my stamp of approval. It's a fun shooter, even if the feature set is limited, but hey, what did you expect for 15 bucks? Besides, there's always room for downloadable content. Now to move on to the Dishwasher.

The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai (that's the full name by the way) reminds me of the good old days of the side scrolling beat em' ups for Sega Genesis and Nintendo mixed in with a little flair you would find at newgrounds.com. The story isn't really that great, but it was created by some guy in his basement, and since he's not an expert, I can forgive a poor narrative. It's not really poor per say, but it's hard to care about it, especially when there's a lot of slashy slashy do to. You play as a guy working as a dishwasher when his heart gets ripped out of you Mortal Kombat style. He's still alive, but don't know why. Meanwhile, cyborgs are coming after him for reasons he's not sure of yet, but he knows they're the reason he has no heart. So, not only is he out for revenge, he needs to figure out just how da hell is he still alive. You know, upon retrospect, the story is a lot better than I gave it credit for.
This is one of those games where button mashing is fun as all hell. Going through wave after wave of enemies with a pair of meat cleavers just never seems to get old no matter how long or how many times I do it. Don't think this game is easy, though: not by a fuckin long shot. Trust me, there's nothing wrong with putting the difficulty on easy. This game reminded me just how frustrating the 8-bit/16-bit game were except the Dishwasher thankfully has a difficulty setting that can be changed in the main menu no matter how far along you are in the story. As for the gameplay, mashing buttons is fun, but you better learn how to avoid attacks because your health goes down quick as hell. It's also a good idea to figure out the quickest way to kill people because the numbers can fuck you up. You know what, forget what I said about button mashing. Unless you're playing on easy, you better know what the fuck you're doing. Boss battles are a bitch, but once you figure out the most effective way to deal with them....okay, they're still a bitch, but at least you have a chance. Despite the difficulty, everything is setup so nicely, it's a rewarding experience when you come out on top, and not frustrating when you don't. It's like N++: it treats you like scum, but you keep coming back for more. When you do learn how to fight effective, it is such a kick-ass experience bouncing around the screen killing everything that moves. There's even an arcade mode dedicated to just that.
Both games are pretty fuckin awesome, and proved to me that the Xboxlive Arcade may actually be worth a damn. Now, if only that TMNT: Turtle in Time remake would come out already!
Rating: Fuckin Awesome
NOTE: In NCAA Football, I'm using Rutgers for season mode. I gotta go against Florida, then Oklahoma, then Texas, and after the bye week, Penn State. If I go undefeated, I better get a fuckin BCS Championship breth.

Ghostbusters

You know, I have completely checked out, people. Normally, this is where I make a joke about the Ghostbusters franchise, the large packs on their back, the ugly ass outfits, or how their car siren sounds like a horn farting, but really, I'm not feeling it. First of all, any joke I can make will be way too easy. Second, not every post I do has to try to be funny. So, instead of having some long ass intro paragraph with jokes that probably don't make sense, I'm just gonna start the review.
Didn't I just eat you for desert not too long ago?All right people, Let's make this quick. You play the new, voiceless, nameless member of the ghostbuster. Your job as the cadet is to test all the new equipment...in case something goes wrong. You also has to catch ghosts, which you already knew from the job description (aka the first 2 movies). The story is written by the same people who wrote the movies, and the writing (admittedly a little too geeky) is so good, it can very well qualify as Ghostbusters 3. With good writing, you need to have good voice acting. Ghostbusters automatically scores points by having the cast back to do the voices, and they are still funny. They ALMOST do an excellent job. I say ALMOST because I have a few issues with Bill Murray. Half the time, his fuckin whispering, and I have to turn up the volume just to hear him. He's not bad, but it just sounds like they're not paying him enough to act well (and don't send me e-mails about how he can't act well).
Remember her?
Remember her?The post label says shooter, but honestly, I don't know how to classify it. It operates like a shooter, but I don't think you can necessarily call it that. Anyway, if you played third person shooters before (and you have because I told you twice to get Gears of Wars 2), you should be familiar with the controls here, and they work well. Being the test dummy, you are the first to get all of the add-ons to your ion pack. You know, the big heavy shit on your back. You get photon darts that acts like rockets I guess, a stasis beam that's like a freeze ray, some blue shit that acts like a shotgun, green slime to kill some enemies (and slime your partners, which they hate), and so forth. You press the RB to manually vent your pack, which kinda works like reloading. Yea, let's call this a shooter. The action can get intense, leading to some fun moments, but the make or break part to any GB game is capturing ghosts. Once you weaken a ghost, it will be caught in your capture beam. At that point, you throw out your trap (if your parnter hasn't already done so), and try to get the bastard in there. It kinda works like a fishing game. They will constantly struggle to get free, and you're tugging them as hard as you can towards the light coming out the trap. Once they're in the light, you're still in a struggle to keep them from escaping the light so the trap can do its thing. Its actually more fun than I can make it sound, and probably the best part of the game, and it damn well should be. To make things more awesome, you'll go up against previous ghosts that the GB have already beaten. See the 2 pictures above. That's the Grey Lady from the library in the first movie. I think we all know who Stay Puft is, and get this: he's the second official boss you will face (I say 'official' because the first boss was so piss easy, I don't count him as a boss). He shows up so early, and the fight is so epic, you can't help but to get excited about the rest of the game. Online is also sweet, but it's not as competitive as I thought it would be. A lot of the game modes have you teaming up with others to beat ghost, but no game modes where you can blow each other up. It's still all good, though.
......Creepy!
......Creepy!Now That I'm done talking about sunshine and roses, it's time to talk shit. First on my list of complaints is the PKE googles and detector....thingie. See the picture above? When you need to find a ghost or just need to figure out where to go, whip out this shit. You can also find collectibles and scan ghost. My problem is these segments (when I'm pretty much forced to wear them) is that they're boring. Sometimes, a ghost will try to fuck with you when you're wearing them (like move furniture or pop out of nowhere), but for the most part I feel like taking a nap when it's time to use them. Second on my list is the Ghostbusters themselves. You know, the guys you work for. Why the fuck, as the new guy, am I better than them? Why the fuck, as the new guy, am I doing all the work? Why the fuck, as the new guy, do I have to revive them every 5 seconds? When you get knocked down, someone will come to help you. You must also return the favor. If nobody is around to revive you, it's game over. Prepare to see that a lot because your team is filled with idiots who don't know how to avoid danger. Also, why the fuck do we always have to separate for some arbitrary reasons? Wouldn't it be more efficient if we all went in, and kicked some ass (instead of just ME!)? Number 3 on the shit list: why can't I drive the Ecto - 1? I've always wanted to since I was a kid. Number 4: WHY THE FUCK CAN'T I DRIVE THE ECTO -1!?
TIMBEEEEEEEEEER!
TIMBEEEEEEEEEER!If you're a Ghostbusters fan, you've already bought this game and are singing the theme song as we speak. For the rest of you, it all depends on how much you like it. That seems to be the game's biggest pitfalls. You have to actually like the movies to like this game. You also have to be familiar with third person shooters, but most xbox owner are, so that shouldn't be an issue. It's a good game all around, and I recommend it highly.
Rating: Sweet
NOTE: Yes, I have a PSP now. No, I will not start a PSP blog, so shove it. He knows who I'm talking to.

Gears of War 2

Normally when I play a first or third person shooter, I find that the developers only concentrate on one aspect. If it's single player then online play will suck and vise versa (including Halo 3). Recently I have played 2 exceptions: Call of Duty 4 (with a kick-ass scene when you're caught in an explosion) and the Gears of Wars series.
If you're looking for a story, well there isn't much of one. Your partner is looking for his wife, but that's ignored through most of the game, and it's never explained why the enemy needed to start shit with you in the first place. Maybe they're setting up for the sequel; I dunno. The strange thing is the lack of story may actually be a good thing. You play as big buff manly soldiers who look like they eat steroids and piss HGH who rush into battle despite the fact they're outnumbered 14,568 to 1 (I'm assuming) without either a second thought or much of a plan besides kill everyone. It's pretty hard to come up with a narrative that's good and doesn't get in the way of the manliness this game likes to spew out. This game is so manly that anyone who shows emotion dies with the exception of the guy with the missing wfie, and there's is little emotion to be found from him too.
The game plays like most good third person shooters, but this game puts more emphasis on cover. Most battles require you to shoot from cover unless you're really curious how fast a brickhouse body can die after absorbing a million billion bullets. Other than that it plays like any other shooter, but it does it so well what more could you want? Interesting weapons you say? Gears of Wars 2 have you covered. If you really want to know what draws people to Gears just put in the CD, boot up a new game, and when it starts press the B button. Go on. I'll wait. Many of you may have realized that nothing happened because you don't own the game to begin with. Sorry for wasting your time. For those who do have it, that reving noice you hear is the gun's attachment. This gun is the Lancer, and it has a chainsaw attachment. A FREAKIN' CHAINSAW! There is nothing better than chainsawing an enemy who did you wrong. There are other kickass weapons: the crossbow with exploding arrows, an orbital satellite that shoots lasers strong enough to take out armored dionsaurs (yea, they're in the game...and you can ride one!), and the always entertaining flamethrower, but none of these can compare to the awesomeness that is the Lancer.
Now take said Lancer, put it in the hands of an online community who want to kill each other in a handful of online modes, and you have one of the better experiences you can have on XBOXLVE. Gears have added new twists to the standard game modes found in almost all shooters. Take capture the flag (CTF) now called submission. The rules are the same for any single flag CTF; two teams fight over one flag and try to return it to their respective bases. The twist is the flag....is actually a guy who's packing an overpowered shotgun. This is one flag you don't want to drop unless you want to become nothing more then giblets. As fun as online can be, I have 2 major hangups about it. For one thing, at the time of this post, it takes too damn long to get into a game. One time, just to see how long it will take, I waited 20 minutes, and i still aint get in. I wound up quitting. It's gotten better recently, but it's still a serious problem. My second issue is it takes too many fuckin bullets to put someone down. The better players will have little problem with this, but jesus christ I'm tired of reloading twice before putting someone down.
This game is so mainstream that there's no reason for me to review it. I only did it because a friend asked me to do it and I like to think of it as somewhat of a Valentine's day gift (so she better put out). Either way, it's one of the best games of the 2008 season so you can't go wrong right? Happy V-Day, and to all NBA fans enjoy All-Star Weekend.
Note: C'mon girl. Don't leave me hanging (HAHAHA...........hanging)
